Higher School establishments of Russian Federation and People’s Republic of China rectors’ forum (September 04-07, 2007)
In the context of the Year of China in Russia, the leading higher school establishments of Russian Federation and People’s Republic of China rectors’ forum was held. The forum main topic was : “The role of international cooperation in the higher education quality increase”. The forum was held under auspices of Education and Science Ministry of the Russian Federation and Education Ministry of People’s Republic of China.

The 35 anniversary of creation of Rectors' Councils (July 18, 2007)
July 18, 2007 is a historic date for Russia Rectors Union. This day, 35 years ago, the decree of CC CPSU and Council of Ministers “About measures for further improvement of higher education in the Soviet Union” was published. This decree initiated the forming of regional rectors’ unions of higher education institutions.

The VIII Congress of Russian Rectors Union (June 8-9, 2006)
The VIII Congress of Russian Rectors Union took place in the Assembly Hall of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The Congress was dedicated to the discussions of the issues on improvement of the quality, availability, competitiveness of the Russian education and to the implementation of the national priority educational project.

Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, personally participated in the Congress workflow (speech of the Russian Federation President).

Rectors of Russia higher education institutes, Rectors of the National universities of the CIS, Rectors of the leading universities in Europe, Asia, America, politicians and public men, representatives of the academic community, business and main youth and student associations took part in the Congress.

In the framework of the VIII Congress the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russian Rectors Union and representatives of the Business Community was signed.
